Legally downloaded, perhaps, but still unlicensed. Regardless, this is still what Microsoft wants — more Visual Studio DEVELOPERS to lock into their platform. I'm sure they'd prefer you to use the Express Edition, but let's face it, even the Pro edition is horribly overpriced, and Microsoft aren't stupid. This way
 • they can gouge enterprises (who'll pay practically any price),
 • it makes you feel like you're getting better value when you pirate it.

Durrr, enterprise will pay any price. Learn2License.

It is far cheaper for an individual to get an MSDN subscription. It comes with VS Ultimate, Office Ultimate and 10 "test" licenses for practically every fucking MS product.

And by test they mean leagal and will activate but you are on scouts honour to not use say Win7 Ultimate key as your primary OS.

And the "Enterprise" can get an unbrella subscription for their de team that ends up costs a few hundred bucks.

Really? Doesn't it cost exactly as much as the corresponding VS, every year?
