Six motherfucking threads posted to /prog/ today, and they're all shit. On top of that, the quality of the average /prog/ reply has been steadily declining over the past few months. It used to be tolerable, even ``funny,'' in a sense, but I seriously believe that our fellow /prog/riders are starting to be replaced by artists 12 year olds spouting "fuck you, ``faggot''" and other such shit.
Just this weekend, it got so much worse, to the point where I couldn't even browse anymore. I came back today, hoping that things would be better on a weekday... Well, you can look at the first sentence of my first paragraph to see how that turned out.
I don't know what the fuck I'm going to do now. /prog/ was always the crown jewel of 4chan to me, an island in an ocean of piss. With /jp/ irrevocably destroyed and /prog/ on its way there, I don't know where I'm going to hang out anymore. There are other BBSes out there (I wouldn't dare mention their names, given the current state of this board), but none of them were ever quite up to the standard that I held /prog/ to.
yet another shitty metathread.
I've posted this about a hundred times, but it seems the message never sinks in. META THREADS COMPLAINING ABOUT /PROG/ QUALITY DO NOT HELP THE SITUATION. And besides, we've been complaining about the decline in quality for YEARS.
The ``faggot'' guy is just some lame retard wanted to force a "meme", same goes for most of the spam. Ignore them, post content. If you don't have anything to post, find something.
I ran an experiment yesterday to see if anyone gave a shit about posting content, and bumped the papers thread. No-one took me up on that. Was I surprised? No. But I'll try again next time I have some content to post. That is how you deal with this, not the shitty metathreads.

>>1 /prog/ was always the crown jewel of 4chan to me, an island in an ocean of piss.
I think the recent decline in quality may be due to the addition of the five new imageboards that were created. But as other posters have mentioned, making a meta thread complaining about it will not make things better.

I started http://dis.4chan.org/read/prog/1270472272/ as a quasi-response to the (now) stopped thread that was unoriginal and 70% OP. I regret nothing. Perhaps >>1 should stop trying to assume the ``grumpy grandfather'' role and do something about it

If you had left these out, you'd have had me. Since it's a meta thread and you're getting responses as though you're serious, I shall bestow upon you 6 out of a possible 10.
I have noticed that due to the low quality of /Prague/ lately, I myself don't put as much effort into reading threads or replying with meaningful posts, often starting a reply but closing the tab after deciding ``it's not worth it''.
My point: everyone needs to put in some effort into making /prog/ better. Meta-threads aren't really that useful, though they help make existing issues more noticeable.

I didn't pay too much attention to that thread because I assumed it was some /jp/ inside-joke, and as the OP didn't provide any links, I didn't check the validity of my assumption.
