You left out the obvious un-sup and more correct end-sup.
Also, it should sound like soup, except it shouldn't be sounded at all. What is the sound of one tag closing in a post with no parser around to HTML-ify it? -- Hey, we have an answer to that one already! (And it's really friggin' annoying, as it happens.)

It's isomorphic to the faggot option if you don't care about correctness, but then again, most people who use end-sup do care about correctness.

I usually think of it as ``slash-sup'' to be honest. When you think about it, however, open and close bbcode and html tags are, in a way, extensions to our bracket system. Take this, for example:
int main (void)
{
/*code goes here*/
return 0;
}
pronounced:
int main open-paren void close-paren
open-curly
/*code goes here*/
return 0;
close-curly
We can now begin to look at our bbcodes in a new fashion: [i]
I

am an
[b]
[i]
[o]
[u]
EXPERT BBCODE PROGRAMMER
[/u]
[/o]
[/i]

When you start to think of bbcode like this, you begin to realize that it is most logical to name our bbcode ``brackets'' in a manner similar to regular brackets. Therefore, the best way for one to pronounce the previous section would be:
open-italics
I
close-italics
am an
open-bold
open-italics
open-overline
open-underline
EXPERT BBCODE PROGRAMMER
close-underline
close-overline
close-italics
close-bold
I will attempt to adopt this new naming scheme, and I would advise my fellow /prog/riders to do the same.

I think I used to do something like this when I was younger, mapping sounds to concepts. I don't think I've done it within the past 10 years or so, however.
