How does this affect someone who does not have a FaceBook account?

Name: Anonymous 2010-03-26 2:48

you'll have to either get a facebook account or be as much of an outcast on the internet as you are in real life.

>, the entire Internet will be turned into a tributary system for Facebook.
These faggots really think their retard nest is so valuable people have to serve them?

Simple: You use websites. Some websites will undoubtedly go for it. Others won't. Because it requires specific formatting, it will affect the way you interact with these sites.

Either way, it's a genius move in arrogance; Facebook has a ridiculous quantity of users and traffic. Markets are likely to want to tap into that flow. Facebook would love to establish itself as the next nexus of the Internet, similar to the way Google changed everything.

User expectations change because all these sites transition. Now it's a standard thing and you lose terribly if you don't go with it. It may very well by the death of the Internet as it's currently known. Time will tell.

It may very well by the death of the Internet as it's currently known. Time will tell.

the internet is shit these days, filled with dumb "web 2.0" whores, built on shitty protocols without any security. outdated and weak.

i cant wait until the goverment starts controling the internet and making it a clean area for their shitty pseudo-morals, scareing inteligent people away and turning the internet into a shithole so that the weak and ignorant well be fed the incompetence and stupidity of their own ones and it becomes the collection of human stupidity and not knowledge anymore(one might argue it allready is).
then people will start building darknets for their own purposes and uses.

i would argue at this point we should start a "/prog/net" right away. i got lots of cable, switches and routers, who needs some?

i've already set up a pretty sizable darknet with friends and acquaintances. i only come here for trolling.

The future:
LightNet - Censored and moderated, corporation and goverment owned Disneyland.
DarkNet - Loosely organized, networks of anarchistic and individualistic people sharing data freely.
Which one you choose?

I choose AnusNet.

Name: Anonymous 2010-03-26 5:16

>>9
probably not. you'd have to have an 802.11n router and a directional antenna within range of our network. all the current connections between the darknet and the internet are through tor, so tunneling in over the internet wouldn't really be an option.

nah. the web is constantly evolving to resemble more and more a sleek, mirror's edge-like metropolis. You have the huge shopping malls and trendy discos where all the idiots go to catch syphylis, and then you have museums, forums and backalley shops where intelligent people gather, learn, discuss and make transactions. The two groups will overlap a bit, but in the end they'll both coexist without bothering each other very much.
sure, there will be more police, but that has never stopped information from being exchanged.

Not quite a Disneyland, but more of a social MMORPG.

…bearing in mind that DarkNet will have no funding, no bandwidth, no maintenance workers, no gaems, and no teenage sluts begging to be exploited.  Oh, and the police will infiltrate it the moment it becomes just a bit interesting.

There will be no need in a Firewall, with global control.

What the fuck, yesterday I was explaining a chemistry problem to someone and I used the expression "break free" to describe what happens to molecules when they gain enough energy to change phase. Every time I used it, it made me smile a little because it reminded me of the song by Queen. Now, less than 24h hours later, I see this post >>22 on /prog. What's the probability?
