scp wont work...

Hello /prog/
I'm having problems using scp(actually, sftp in filezilla): whenever I ssh to my server, it will ask my password, then show a welcome message as it usually does, then nothing happens.
It just echoes whatever I type, but there is no shell(I use tcsh) until I do ^C (Ctrl-C). After seemingly killing something(???) I can do everything as I normally would.
I suspect that this is why using scp just "freezes"(like its waiting for something to happen idk..).

Any tips?

whatever sicp is(Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs?) Filezilla probably wont like it :P

Maybe there's a flawed init file somewhere? But I'm not really acquainted with that, should I search in .cshrc? or files like that?
