yes, but a nerd is someone rather good at school with interests like math and physics, while a geek is someone who lives more in a dream world and has a rather odd or exotic hobbie(s) which he is obsesive about and is not that good at school.

being a nerd might be more of a plus when you grow up while being a geek grants you less chances.

ofcourse both are not mutualy exclusive, i for example am quite good at math and physics but had avarage and some bad grades in school, but i live quite in a dreamworld and am generaly a weirdo.
