People essentially take personality tests, for the most part, to validate what they already "know" about themselves. They only like hearing about the good aspects of their personality, and tests are, in general, worthless at actually discerning with any degree of accuracy personality traits.

Maybe that's true for many kinds of personality tests, but looking up any of the MBTI types leads to endless pages describing how people of each type tend to behave, both internally and externally, both good and bad.

I've seen personality tests on countless forums, the results are always the same: Mostly INTJ and INTP (roughly the same amounts) and then a slew of ISTPs.
