Today I encountered several blogs written by people who call themselves programming fanatics. Their site was littered with little badges like "Certified Scrum Master", "I'm against
Anyway, in each and every one post the fucking blogger described some god damn Ruby framework or test utility, told how he is going to utilize it in his pet project and provided some useless graphs or benchmarks. None of the posts had any comments because no one cares, not even the other fanatics because they're too busy whoring the attention to themselves.
It's not totally unlike the hipster subculture in music. All they do is babble about frameworks and languages you haven't ever heard about (and don't want to).
It's not totally unlike the furry subculture either. Half of their work seems to be attending Agile Seminars around the world with people as fanatic as them and taking part in unfathomable evening activities.
