The FreeBSD project is looking at the possibility to replace GCC with Clang as a system compiler. It can compile 99% of the FreeBSD world and can compile booting kernel on i386/amd64 but it still contains bugs and its C++ support is still immature.
FreeBSD rolls again.

Why must all new software have these FUCKING STUPID names?  It almost makes me disregard them before I even learn anything about them, because no self-conscious project creator would call their project fucking "Clang" or "Bing" or... don't feel like even thinking about what other dogshit is out there at the moment.

In any case, it's a retarded name for a C compiler.

I'm sure they could find a way to stay in the _cc tradition.  We haven't even used the entire alphabet yet... gcc, icc, lcc, pcc, sdcc, tcc... plenty of room for various ____ C Compilers.

It just smells like corporate bullshit to me.  Which in the case of Bing I'm sure it is, but I don't know who's behind Clang.
