I'm not OP. I'm just lurking. I've got to say, at 21 posts, somebody should have at least explained to the poor guy why his question is misguided (and it's not, entirely. There is a subtle difference to how the terms are used at least colloquially.) But instead, all there has been is ">> (some number) HERP DERP FUCK YOU", ">> (the last guy) HEY SUCK MAH DICK UR NOT PROGRAMER", ">> (another number) DERP DERP WHY DONT U GO AWAY".
I just have to wonder, does programming ever get discussed here?

He was already answered in >>7, it was trivially googable and makes the false assumption that scripting languages aren't real programming languages. Programming does get discussed, when we have a topic worth discussing and 21 posts 0 content is nothing new for ANY 4chan board image or text.
Good evening sirs and the off chance that you are a madame. Would any of you kindly point me in the right direction, for I do not understand the difference between a scripted language, and a programming language.

Hello Joshin,
As it happens, I know of a fantastic service that can ferret out all sorts of information on that very subject, and indeed many others! If you care to give it a whirl, please find the enclosed hyper-link and activate it with your clicker. I expect you'll be most pleased with the results.

In my opinion, a scripting language is any language suitable for scripting. Scripting is the act of automating work that you could reasonably do yourself.
