1. Grammar nazis start appearing.

2. The grammar nazis evolve into tripfags/namefags (because, lets face it, grammar nazis are just attention whores like tripfags) and suddenly there's 1 tripfag for every 5 anonymous.
As >>41 pointed out, that doesn't logically follow. As I have already pointed out, YOU are the one who is giving attention to this. My suggestion was WE IGNORE IT, and that has always been my suggestion. If you are so worried about them being attention whores, THEN STOP GIVING THEM ATTENTION. The latter half is a slippery slope argument, and you know it.
3. The grammar nazis / tripfags start camwhoring and attention seeking.
Lets ignore the fact that camwhoring (back to /b/ please) isn't possible( and if they went so far as to create an accurate ascii representation of themselves they deserve some attention) then your 3rd point is just you repeating your 2nd argument, which as I have already stated is fundamentally flawed.
4. The board turns into an attention whore circle jerk. All quality posters leave and never return. The end.
The first is just laughable, but again it's just you being the same paranoid fuckwit you have always been. Besides, a large portion of the quality posters have left, that's life and it was their choice. As for the remaining quality posters, if they stuck throught the spam thus far, I see no reason to presume they wouldn't remain.
This isn't speculation. I've seen it happen twice.
Your examples? /r9k/ and reddit? Good riddance to them. reddit is flawed by ALREADY BEING A REPUTATION BASED CIRCLEJERK. It has voting and named posting, how could it not? /r9k/ was a stupid idea, for all the people mourning old /b/, /r9k/ was never going to bring it back, the question was "How will it destroy itself?" and you have your answer.
/prog/ is my favourite place to visit, so i refuse to let people like you ruin it.

No, it's because people spending all their time bawwing over who has a tripcode and why they are shitposting gave them the attention they wanted. I don't come to /prog/ for programming help. Like most people, I can look up documentation and find answers by myself. I may help other people, if I feel like it. I don't post grammar trolls, but probably have done it at least once in the past, and I've only used the HMA meme a single time. As a Lisper, I do answer to Lisp questions I know the answer to, and may even engage in flame wars, if someone has posted something inflammatory, is that what you consider ``Lisp trolling''?
