No-one really agrees on when the Internet's birthday actually is, but I believe he may be referring to the first message sent on ARPAnet[1] which would be 40 years Tomorrow anyway.
In everything I've been interested in, music, movies, programming, science, etc, there's always those celebrating days. Human society is full of them. We really don't need them. None of them.
