What is the best way to learn AI? links, books, basic shit?
Anything related for a noob is welcome.

Read Artificial Intelligence: A Modern Approach by Peter Norvig. Then read something else.

Then you read PAIP.

Name: Anonymous 2009-10-25 7:38

Read PAIP. Don't be a newfag that pays for books and grab it on TPB. Most of it is outdated and became general knowledge now "AI" (how do i graph search?) but should give a good idea of how to express algorithms.

As per Tilton's Law: the problem to solve is not to write the actual algorithm, but designing the protocol ("interface" for the outgroup) for using the algorithm.

Generally after so many broken promises AI researchers (MIT, PARC, Symbolics, whatever) did, if you submit a resume stating you have an "AI background" you'll be treated as a new-age hippie wanting to get off "chakra energies".

Right nao the cool thing to do is design toy robots in Java which walk into walls because the Java "VM" is doing (mark-and-sweep) GC. Bon appetit!

Java?  For the love of god...  If I ever get around to doing anything for embedded devices (robots or not) it will be in C.

Who uses TPB for books? Just use gigapedia if you're not retarded.

Name: Anonymous 2009-10-26 10:31

It used some automatic OCR thing, which made most text readable, but some of the code had characters misplaced, like , vs . or 1 vs l or 0 vs O or o. I would have preferred a simple scanned version (no unreliable OCR) instead.
>>26
I've searched in other places for it, and all had the exact same file. I don't know if there's other scans/copies of it.

Your search - SICP - did not match any documents.

Suggestions:

    * Make sure all words are spelled correctly.
    * Try different keywords.
    * Try more general keywords.

What a great suggestion! I tried to search for five different well-known programming books and got zero (0) matches for each. I've never felt this non-retarded.

Although it only says "By Harold Abelson" so I might stop using it.

So what you just searched their acronyms? You shouldn't feel non-retarded at all. You're GIGANTICALLY retarded!

What's the point of this site? Those results seem to contain only basic info and Amazon reviews of the said books. If I wanted that, I would go to Amazon.

And what's up with the front page only containing a Google search box that doesn't do anything, and hiding the actual search behind an unlinked /1/?

Don't change these.
