I'm not >>7, but is this such a big deal? The only difference would be that the symbols would get interned in the current package, instead of the KEYWORD package. If he used symbols which are interned in the current package, he'd want to export them so they could be used by whoever uses his package. I understand that the KEYWORD package may get polluted by some extra symbols, but as far as I can tell, ALL the symbols in the KEYWORD package don't serve any other purpose except to be used as a keyword or to name a package(the only exception that I can see so far).
