Getting a job

How do I do it? I know C, PHP+MySQL and JavaScript so far, and I'm willing to learn more. Something simple like writing firefox addons would do for a start. I've heard about many people doing these as freelance jobs, but I can't find any on these mercenary coder websites.

I'm writing something similar, except it's not an RTS, and it's written using C and ncurses and at least I have written some code.
