Lets discuss how we can save /prog/!

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-15 11:00

>>1
Please try to ignore troll posts

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-15 11:12

simply by not paying attention to him.
ffs, are you an idiot?

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-15 11:42

[spoiler] tags expected.
Get the Greasemonkey script and rejoice.

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-15 12:46

Such arguments have been made many times when a small community is plagued by one or more trolls of such kind. The solution is simple: Just ignore him. Install that script if it makes it easier for you, or simply recognize his posts for what they truly are and don't respond to them as you acknowledge his hopelessness.

It's like you're walking along a beach, and suddenly you go OH HOLY FUCK, A GRAIN OF SAND! WELL FUCK ME! FUCK THIS! MIND = BLOWN!!11
Try to do something remotely interesting instead, like collecting shells, or catch crabs.

>>6 Actually i had a small collection of seashells(or have somewhere, i'm not sure if they were thrown away or not). Collecting them isn't interesting..just boring and mundane, you have to filter 99% of generic crap to get the few good shells.

In my practice, I've seen how people have allowed their humanity to drain away. Only it happened slowly instead of all at once. They didn't seem to mind...All of us - a little bit - we harden our hearts, grow callous. Only when we have to fight to stay human do we realize how precious it is to us, how dear.

This thread skipped from >>6 to >>8
How odd.

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-15 15:44

>>1
Who is this FV? I see people mention him but never saw his posts. Is he a meme? Maybe part of /prog/ folkore, akin to a "village idiot"?

I don't really see the problem.

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-15 15:44

>>8
I know, the board software have some kind of hiccups lately. Like forgetting to count correctly.

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-15 16:47

>>9
I don't really see the problem.
Good.

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-15 17:04

I think FV should post more on /lounge/

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-15 18:24

Now /prog/ has two problems.

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-15 18:32

Murder is the best option.

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-16 0:07

>>12
That wouldn't keep him busy enough to not visit /prog/.

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-16 2:01

FORCED ANONYMITY.

BANS.

REPLACE BBCODE WITH LISP.

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-16 5:28

FORCED ANONYMITY.
And how are why supposed to hide his idiotic posts then?

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-16 9:30

>>17
his
Frozen Void is a hot chick.

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-16 9:35

We can save /prog/ by bumping FV posts so much that all the Haskellers leave and go back to whatever ruby-of-functional-programming hole they crawled out of.

Name: !MILKRIBS4k 2009-07-16 9:43

>>16
FORCED ANONYMITY.
No! Don't you see that is what makes things so bad with world4ch! If we had a registration system then there wouldn't be as many trolls! There would be more content providers such as MILKRIBS4k! I don't see why you all hate FV! He provides content while everyone else just trolls!

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-16 9:46

>>20
There are numerous non-anonymous communities on the Internet already, why can't you leave world4ch alone?

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-16 9:47

>>20
IHBT

Name: !MILKRIBS4k 2009-07-16 9:50

>>21
Because I found this community first, and I like improving things!

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-16 9:58

>>23
No, listen to me, you anus. There are numerous non-anonymous communities on the Internet already.. Go there, to any of them. Why do you want to change world4ch to something that already exists somewhere else, in astounding numbers? If you don't enjoy anonymous communities, go away. You might see your actions as improving, but we might like to wallow in this shit. So leave us alone; we need diversity in the Internet.

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-16 9:59

>>20
and this the problem .

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-16 9:59

And please don't say bullshit like this any more. Unlike Mr. Void, your posts are sometimes amusing, and I really wouldn't want to lose that by blocking you because you piss me off so much.

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-16 11:46

>>24
Huh.  It skipped to 22 to 24 now.  That's really odd.

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-16 12:04

>>26
Mr. Void
Frozen Void is a hot chick.

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-16 12:41

>>28
It's still not hard to identify you when you post anonymously, FV. Unless IHBMT

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-16 12:45

>>29
Actually, it's more likely to be that other guy. Unless SP

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-16 13:15

we need a savior to clean up /prog/.  A revolution.  We need another Wokon.

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-16 13:23

Guy's, just ignore troll posts. It's really that easy.

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-16 13:28

>>32
But then there'd be nothing to say here, ever!

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-16 13:41

>>33
How about read SICP. There isn't enough evidence of people here that have actually completed a full reading of SICP.

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-16 14:09

>>34
But SICP sucks and is outdated.

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-16 14:12

>>34
I haven't even read the table of contents!

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-16 14:59

>>1
Just leave her alone already.
