Why are computers so fucking slow?

I mean, jesus.  We've come all this way and yet computers are still slow as fuck.  We make faster computers, better hardware, and it still just sucks ass.  Why the hell is this?

Summer only increases the problem, it doesn't create it.
Text boards are, by default, hidden. Summer-spawned individuals tend to lack skills to discover them on their own.
If frames were the default option now, we would have much bigger problem. Yet, when it was the default one, /prog/ had high level of average intelligence.
