I think, and my thoughts cross the barrier into the synapses of the machine - just as the good doctor intended. But what I cannot shake, and what hints at things to come, is that thoughts cross back. In my dreams the sensibility of the machine invades the periphery of my consciousness. Dark. Rigid. Cold. Alien. Evolution is at work here, but just what is evolving remains to be seen.

Python is a good beginners programming language (and for non-beginners) and I'd recommend Think Python [1]
Of course, you should read SICP [2] at some point too.

“Thinking Python” sounds like almost as bad an idea as “Thinking Java” or “Thinking C++”.

There was a Thinking Python by Bruce Eckel, it was horrible. This is different though, it's really a beginners tutorial.

You may want to install the "Fix/prog" GreaseMonkey script.

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-05 14:40

>>9
I'm sure it is. But that's not the point. The point is that thinking in any way related to Python sounds bad. Why not just call it WWGD, right?

Guido van Robot (GVR) is an educational tool to help students learn the Python programming language, ...a student writes a program that controls a 'robot' that moves through a city consisting of a rectangular grid of streets ...uses a minimalistic programming language providing just enough syntax to help students learn the concepts of sequencing, conditional branching, looping and procedural abstraction.
