Right tool for the job faggot. Just use some program that uses the X windowing system.
I know a guy that seriously doesn't believe in X. How does he view pictures? He cannot.
- Mike, look at this graph.
- I can't, I don't have X, X is bloat.
- *grabs feh*
There is a program for viewing pictures in the terminal called fbi (frame buffer images or something). I've had it working in other distros a few years back but never got it working in ubuntu.
I even once had it working via ssh from a shell. Tell your friend about it.
Stop being a fag and use a GUI. What is your hard drive only 100MB or something? Stop shouting BLOAT BLOAT when you don't have anything better to process. The performance cost of a GUI is negligible unless you have a piece of shit computer.
TL;DR - INSTALL A GUI AND STOP BEING A FAG

It helps not having a GUI on a laptop. Battery goes down much faster with one.
>>17 My battery goes down equally fast with both of them. Sorry if your laptop has a faulty crap design.

If you want a simple window system in X, there is screen, ratpoison, or evilwm if you want to get fancy.

It does, actually, after a full recharge it starts at 90%, goes to 70% after two minutes and sits at 20% for the majority of its life, before leaping down to 10%, then 7% after a few minutes, then 1% for about 30 seconds before it finally dies. So there.

>>21 70% after two minutes
Your battery has gone bad. Try just getting one that works.

There are image viewers that don't require X. Fancy graphics didn't start with X11.
Get one based on SVGAlib or something.
