SpamBayes for 4chan

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-07 22:42

Made a spam filter for 4chan:

Wondering if there's a way to hide entire threads in greasemonkey

Filters 4chan posts based on a baysian

I stopped reading there. Do you know how complicated Bayesian filtering systems are? The fact that you can't even spell it correctly really makes this laughable. You need at least a masters in statistics before you could write or implement something of this nature that would actually be effective. This is even worse than first year computer science students writing their own "Stream Ciphers."

That's really quite a brilliant idea.

Oh jesus-fucking-christ, I made a typo.

Oh, woe is me! I guess this means that this whole experiment, that has proven effective so far, is a complete failure.

Christ, get that log out of your ass.

Also:

>The fact that you can't even spell it correctly really makes this laughable.

No, what makes this more laughable is that the script correctly marked your post as spam/troll shit.

PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFT.

-5/10. This actually made me laugh.

You forgot the e in Bayesian, good sir.

That is the gravest of /prog/ sin.

Because slowing down my 4chan experience by spam-checking every post with some remote server totally is worth hiding one or two spam posts each day. Great idea indeed!

PS: 4chan thread filter > this.

1) Install SpamBayes for Windows
??? So should I run it under Wine, or what? ???
Anyway, you probably won't want to hide entire threads. There's too little intra-thread coherency here to label an entire thread based on the first post.

Back to /g/ please OP.

0/10.

A good troll is 90% truth and 10% lie.

>??? So should I run it under Wine, or what? ???
SpamBayes has a Linux version I believe.

Although, I think it should run under wine without an issue.

>Anyway, you probably won't want to hide entire threads. There's too little intra-thread coherency here to label an entire thread based on the first post.

True, but then the alternative is that posts at the beginning of a thread don't get completely hidden.

>>9
I didn't even notice this post until I saw my post was the 10th in this thread, and there was an unhide link.

I have to say, this idea has worked out fairly well.

Why should MIT know better than Abelson & Sussman?

Install Spambayes for linux. Run Spambayes. Profit.

It's running fine for me under Ubunchu.

Install 4chan extension and hide threads at your leisure.

The quotes in this thread are killing me. So I decided to properly quote something, and my first idea was to quote myself.

The point is that if you can't spell such a simple thing, odds are that you aren't intelligent enough to code something of that nature. Enjoy being an idiot.

Thank you for accurately recognising the quality of our trolls. We don't intend to troll anybody here at /prog/.

Don't change these.
