I was close to becoming a Python fanatic once. I spent all day coding in it; I barely did anything else. But then I had a strange nightmare: The Sussman appeared in my dreams, wearing a blue suit, (I still remember his piercing eyes), and repeated in an eerie voice - "the forced... indentation... of code... the forced... indentation... of code..."...
I woke up, Googled the phrase and here I am.
What about you?

I "discovered" /b/, then one day looked at the other boards.

I thought "hey, I like programming, maybe some 4chan board will too."
To this day, there's still no board that's dedicated to programming.

Yeah, it's a pity. There are boards in other chans though.

When I fell of my motorbike in March last year, I ended up in hospital with two broken arms and a fracture to the skull. Unable to program, I was forced to remain in bed watching daytime TV. At one point, Oprah appeared on the screen and I had a seizure. I awoke in a daze, several hours later in a pool of my own blood. After my lovely Feito-chan helped me back onto the bed, I looked down at the pool of blood and saw it was in the shape of a giant lambda. The rest as they say is history.

I have a vague recollection of randomly ending up in /pr/ (which I also didn't know of), where the first message, a sticky, said:
Don't be a faggot, this isn't /prog/.
So, out of curiosity, I came here and found out that I'd rather be a faggot than go back to /pr/.

I was browsing the /b/ image boards around three years ago, and one day noticed that 4chan had text boards. The rest, as they say, is history.

I was googling after it came to light that the trolltalk crapflooder's motivation was to claim the 1st spoke or something like that. I think there was a thread here returned in the results. I had already been a /b/tard in the past but never came to the text boards then.

yes, i am originally from /b/ and i am unashamed of that fact.
but DAMNIT, I'M AN ADULT NOW, I WILL GO WHERE I PLEASE

Shii told me about some brand new site called world4ch.
Then it got absorbed by 4chan.
I'm not sure if Shii comes here anymore, I haven't talked to him in over a year.

i don't know why but it's rather creepy to think of posters on /prog/ as actual people,
doubly so if they're minor internet celebrities like Shii
>>24 >>23 here, I'm also a minor internet celebrity. But I'm not going to tell you which one.

I discovered /b/ 2 years ago, after a month of casually browsing /b/ I got bored of it and went to other boards, eventually I found out about textboards(worldch4n) and thought they were superior to the image boards. I think /prog/ is the best board on 4chan to this day.
Encyclopedia Dramatica
/b/
Other boards (/tg/, /g/, /v/)
When /b/ became total shit I started looking for other boards. I like programming, so I tried /prog/. This board! It was made for me! >>26 Traceback (most recent call last):

I was looking for a literature board, and they told me that there's a textboard, and I checked it out, and accidentally ended up here.
Used to be on /a/, and now exclusively /jp/ after the split. Came here out of curiosity, stayed because I discovered my true calling as a Satori programmer.
Humorously, I came to /prog/ from Wikipedia, though not directly. They had a feature on OS-tans. From there, I looked at the entry on Futaba channel, which linked to the entry on 4chan. Thus, Wikipedia brought me to 4chan. This was back when the frames version of the site was default, so I could actually navigate to /prog/.
