I read SICP, which I don't regret, but I haven't moved any further since then. For a year I've been I've been toying around with languages like LISP, doing Project Euler tasks. Now, when I hear that my friends will write a compiler, a basic OS or collaborate to create a simple game, I feel I'm behind. I don't think that they will need my linear-time fibonacci numbers. What do I do now, /prog/, what do I do after SICP?

Does not compute. Read SICP again and again until you finally reach satori and no longer have a need to ask question.

we somtimes need to sacrifice ellegance for performance.
I am the compiler of my IDE.
Lexer is my body, and parser is my blood.
I have run over a thousand passes.
Unaware of optimal output.
Nor aware of correctness.
Withstood pain to create many executables.
Waiting for one's arrival.
I have no regrets, this is the only path.
My whole life was "Unlimited Code Works."

SICP covers a basic compiler so you're good on that front.

why not use the logarithmic time fibonacci numbers from exercise 1.19?

Throw SICP in trash, buy The C Programming Language and jerk off to it.

Is shit. Do not waster your time with Haskell. To be avoided just like the sepples and JavaShit.

I've made many posts here explaining why Haskell is shit. I don't want to repeat them.

Really? You're comparing it to C++ and Javascript, when it's similar neither of them? LISP is far closer to Javascript than Haskell.

It has similarities to C++, but that's not what I wanted to point out. I was naming other shitty popular languages that you might make the mistake of spending time with.

Get it out of your head. There is nothing beyond SICP.
