Anyone is welcome to join the project and help with transcribing, editing, and typesetting. We currently have lecture 1a transcribed and ready to edit, and someone has so far already completed 15% of lecture 1b.
We'll be reencoding to 640x480, it doesn't look too bad upscaled and you can actually read the text on the slides that way. Does anyone know whether the .mpg or .avi raws is the better quality?
I think we should all sponsor a remake of the SICP lectures as a 26-episodes anime. Animation by Shaft, so that we do not need to front more than $10.000 per /prog/rider, with Masako Nozawa as Harold Abelson, Norio Wakamoto as Gerald Jay Sussman, and Aya Hirano as Julie Sussman.

While reddit, xkcd forums, stackoverflow, and the Google code teams are coding tools and discussing the new FIOC3000, /prog/ is fansubing the SICP lectures. It's ridiculous. *sigh*.

is a terrible name for this business. First of all it's not a science. It might be engineering... or it might be art... Or we'll actually see that computer... so-called 'science'
actually has a lot in common with magic. We will see that in this course.
So it's not a science. It's also not really very much about computers. And it's not about computers in the same sense that... that Hayate no Gotoku is not really about wind... and Higurashi is not really
about cicadas.
