How do I join you guys on IRC? I know this isn't in SICP, and I have mIRC so if you could help me connect that would be great, I wont ask stupid questions.

I no :( I'd use Irssi, but you have to be a rocket scientist in Unix and Unix-like systems first in order to be able to use it to its full potential.

i find x-chat more useful on my unix and unix-like systems... probably because most of them are handheld devices with touch screens and either a tiny thumb keyboard or just an on-screen one.

There are about two bindings you should memorize for switching tabs, and two commands for joining servers/channels, all found in the irssi tutorial. You could even write those four things down somewhere, and woosh, you're all ready.

and wine on freebsd is faster than windows. wine on linux is faster than windows too, but it's less stable and slower than freebsd. freebsd even runs linux binaries faster than linux does.
This thread almost made me rage, until I realized everyone but >>1 was trolling, and >>1 will never find his way to the IRC channel, so it's all good.
