2-7, otherwise known as 'deuce-seven', represents the worst pocket cards you can receive in texas hold 'em poker. This is because 2 is the lowest card in value you can receive, plus you have what is knows as the "4-gap" cards; four cards in between the 2 and the 7, thus are also not able to make a straight unless you receive the remaining four consecutive needed for your hand. Even if you make the straight, it's highly likely someone else will have a higher straight.
