Why there are all those operating systems? Why there are a lot of programming languages? Shouldn't we throw away all that garbage and write One operating system with one programming language? Well my short answer is that its a big ego check out my e-penis thing for programmers to write programming languages and OSs. The second is that the ones the currently exist are not perfect, so programmers keep trying to improve on them. When someone creates a language which has the speed of native, with the coding features of high-level languages, then everyone will use that language. Same with OS's, when someone creates a free open source, super-efficient, easy to use, flexible OS that does everything people want to do with their computer. Then people will use that in droves.
