EXACTLY like explaining the benefits of Vim or Emacs to a guy who edits his code in notepad. Really, however cunning and persuasive your arguments may be, he could and would dismiss it with a simple "that shit is for pussies, real programmers have no need to use it". "That shit" could stand for a code hilighting, smart indent, ctags, whatever. If he haven't use it, he could always say that he haven't use it and still managed to get things done, so what's the point?
