Development Income

I'm trying to find some statistics comparing income for individuals developing software under an open source license compared to a closed source license. The idea of comparison itself is easy enough, just by comparing compensation allowed through developing under, say, the GPL versus a private license, but it would be nice to have some solid numbers. Anything at all would be helpful.

There is a lot of money to be maid in consulting + maintenance of open source software. You don't have such luxury with your enterprise closed source
