‘Human Input Validation’ (also know as CAPTCHA) not only harms usability, but breaks anti-discrimination laws in many countries. In addition, recently spammers have begun to use tactics that defeat the process.

Many websites using forms now show an image of some text which the visitor must enter into a textfield to proceed. The purpose of this is to stop automatic form submission by computer programs, which may be malicious.

It is not just computers that find the text difficult to read — visitors with visual impairment will also be unable to fill in the form. This is not only inconsiderate; if the form is on a business website, this is illegal in many countries (for example, in the UK it would be illegal under the Disability Discrimination Act 1995).

This is a serious issue. Please help me in reporting all web sites that use CAPTCHA to the proper authorities.

Google doesn't use it for plain search queries. Except if you decide to register to use its services. (Gmail, etc.)

How are they going to find it if they can't see? They'd probably click on the CP links cunningly placed around it ;)

So what? Just say it's private. Noone can force you to let every hobo in your house, so why should every hobo be allowed on your website?

I'm partially colorblind and I've seen captchas that look like colorblindness tests. I wanted to hit the creator in the face with a dildo until he felt he was getting fucked like I was.

Don't bring Peter Noone into this, swine!

Granted, some captchas are too obfuscated, but that doesn't mean any captcha is bad.
Also I find it very amusing that I amm >>7,10

I don't give a shit about your retarded websites. CAPTCHAS are fucking cancerous. Just a kneejerk reaction by retards who don't know how to manage a website. Seriously, if you're being spammed with links then what you do is that you create a spam file and insert those links into the spam file so that posts are checked against that spam file.

But instead of doing something like that, retarded web admins CAPTCHA FUCKING EVERYTHING and then they continue putting more obfuscated captcha images that even human beings can't read because the bot is getting smarter.
