LINUX SUCK

Name: Anonymous 2009-03-10 23:17

LINUX SUCKS BECAUSE

FLASH SUCKS, WINE SUCKS, THE GUI's SUCK, EVERYTHING IS SLOWER THEN WHEN I HAD WINDOWS ON THE SAME MACHINE

WHAT THE FUCK I GOOGLE LINUX DRIVERS AND I GET FAT NERDS ON DISCUSSION BOARDS, GOD DAMN, WHERE IS IT

WHY DO I HAVE TO COMPILE EVERYTHING MYSELF, WHATS WRONG WITH DOWNLOADING BINARYS, HALF THE TIME DEVS FUCK UP THE MAKE FILE ANYWAY AND I DON'T GIVE A FLYING FUCK ON C++ SO I CAN'T FIX IT.

EVERYTIME YOU HAVE TO DO SO MUCH AS MOVE THE MOUSE YOU NEED THE TERMINAL FOR IT.  IT'S SO FUCKING ANNOYING, WHO THE FUCK CARES ABOUT TERMINAL COMMANDS, HOW IS THAT ANYMORE EASIER THEN CLICKING BUTTONS.  THERE'S A REASON WINDOWS IS SO POPULAR, THEY GOT OUT OF THE FUCKING 80'S AND KILLED THE NECESSITY FOR THE COMMAND LINE.

GOD DAMN GET OFF YOUR LAZY ASSES AND GET THIS SHIT FIXED

firefox on opensolaris (out of the box): http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/8148/opensolaris.png

see >>80. the fact that some idiot can make it look like shit and take a screenshot of it doesn't mean that it always looks like that.

Fuck you and your silly idea of everything being exactly what you like and are used to out of the box. Also, market share means nothing.

It looks like fucking shit out of the box, don't kid yourself. Do you use it out of the box; or know anyone remotely intelligent who does? If ever I install a new linux, reformat or whatever that shit needs to be configured worse than a C makefile before I will even think about using it for work and/or play. I do NOT and I'll repeat that. I do NOT ever feel the need to configure or change anything about the default Vista theme, in XP I will change to classic theme but fuck you if you think that counts as configuring.

did you even look at that screenshot? "Obvious separation" and "Centered nicely", just like in the one you posted.
and changing the theme in firefox is the same on any os.
stop blaming the os for how bad firefox looks when firefox uses its own theme engine and looks the same on every os.

>>84 and >>79 are my only posts in this thread.
If you couldn't tell, I wasn't talking about how firefox looks. I was talking about linux in general, the clunky empty shell-with-nothing-inside kind of feel you get when you are using it, with obnoxiously large buttons and curves everywhere that were probably put there by the encryption library programmer who though "OMG BEZIER CURVE, IF I PUT THEM EVERYWHERE IT WILL MAKE LINUX LOOK LIKE SEX AND BEAUTY!! THEN IF WE DONT PROVIDE A STANDARD INTERFACE BUT MAKE EVERYTHING ELSE TRY TO GLUE ITSELF TOGETHER WITH HIDEOUSLY UNCONFORMING SELF CHOSEN LOOKS THEN PEOPLE WILL HAVE CONTROL OVER WHAT THEIR PROGRAMS LOOK LIKE!! HOW COOL I WOULD LOVE THAT FOR MY ENCYPTION LIBRARY GUI."

You have the option to stop installing KDE apps on a GNOME desktop and vice versa if you're that concerned about consistency. Or you could just realize there are maybe two or three toolkits that you can configure and fucking configure them to look like you want them to look (or not, since they're obviously perfectly fine to anyone not desperately looking for something to criticize).

Are you also going to claim Windows is broken because Java's Swing doesn't look like anything like the ``standard'' Windows look-and-feel?

PIG DISGUSTING. That does not look like Windows at all. Sure, it may have the colors, but the sharpness and conciseness is not there. It looks like a slipshod hack at best. Saying that screenshot is like Windows is like saying a kid with obvious Downs is just like yourself, which is probably not the case.

This is what Windows looks like:

It's not desperately looking to criticize something. The interface is the most important part of the OS, in case you just missed the last 15 years. I don't like nonsense in my interface, unlike most. It's not a matter of "learning to like it," it simply makes me unhappy to use such an interface. I do not want to and will not deal with a nonsense interface.

If there are so many nonsense interfaces already done, why is it so difficult to provide one without nonsense? I don't see what's happening here, unless >>86 is correct and every user is some encryption library programmer that has a thing for curves.

Last time I played with uhh... Fedora Core 4, I couldn't do shit with the interface. I imagine that countless improvements have been made both to the OS and interface engine. I was simply looking to see if there was a way to get what I wanted out of it without actually having to put up with the interface to figure it out.

linux needs to stay on servers until they make it a bit more user friendly and stop advertising it as a desktop os for productivity.

Nice, fractal troll. Should work on both people who've used Linux in the past five years and people who understand anything about markets. 5/10.

The reason nobody's taking you seriously is because you're complaining about graphical user interfaces and then holding up Windows as an OS that ``did it right''. You're a troll, and idiot, or both.

The only OS with better interface is MacOSX.

I'm convinced that nothing will ever top the "Windows Classic Style" in Windows XP. It's just so... functional. It doesn't mess around, it doesn't get in the way.
I just love it

I'm lovin' it

Microsoft spends millions and years to polish interface design.
Linux “GUI design” is made by some neckbeard in dark basement on a spare time from coding buggy C++ apps.

Actually, if you'll look, I said that I detest both Aero and Luna. I don't see why you wouldn't take me seriously just because I used the name Windows. I think OSX looks like shit too, if that helps any.

Guess a person can't like anything from Windows without being an idiot and/or a troll. Superb.

Also, for someone who can't use real quotes, I find it interesting that you would claim I am some combination of an idiot and a troll.
