Static typing has many benefits. Faggot.

Why'd you give a function declaration as an example? Variables must be declared in function signatures! You should have posted something like this:

{
    int i;
    char c;
    float aids;
}

Anyways, C is a statically-typed, non-type-inferring language, so "forcing" programmers to declare variables is necessary. Even Python makes you declare variables, because variable assignment is variable declaration.

Perl6 will combine static and dynamic declaration, allowing you to choose whichever you want and applying optimizations where possible.

Yeah, whenever that is. What the fuck is the hold-up with Perl 6? Are they still writing a standard? Have they even started implementing it? Wikipedia says that they're gonna use Pugs to write Perl 6 in Perl 6... since Pugs works (as far as I know,) what's the hold-up? I hear there's even a Perl 6 implementation in Perl 5!

Fact: Perl 6 is abandonware.

Variables are for pussies, RealMen use nothing but combinators.
