Forget it, it's NP-complete.

Name: Anonymous 2009-01-19 17:13

The common misconception about the P = NP problem is that people believe that P and NP are reals, where in reality they actually represent sets/classes of problems. Wikipedia has a good introduction on the subject

He is asking someone to stop quoting Wikipedia.
I'm telling him what his intention looks like in wider perspective,
using the old "Goto considered harmful" principle.

Then what the fuck is up with the following?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:FrozenVoid
Knowledge or Power are not Wisdom.
   Forum Wiki

I'm apparently blocked from editing(i guess, someone disliked Talk:Battle.net advice to remove all hacking/bots to separate article).
Communism work in theory but rarely works in practice
wikipedia is host to alot of info, though it sucks as this adminestered poorly.
Contributing to wikipedia on topics which change frequently is useless, and  contributing information to wikipedia is futile effort.
If you need to publish or improve articles start your own wiki.

I still don't contribute to wikipedia due personal preference.
I would start my own wiki, but this is not a pressing matter.
I don't have much motivation to edit wikipedia today.

Name: =+=*=F=R=O=Z=E=N==V=O=I=D=*=+= !FrOzEn2BUo 2009-01-20 10:04

You misunderstand my (outdated) personal opinion on wikipedia contribution with
its utility as knowledge database(which i have a separate opinion on).
Wikipedia today is wide and resourceful site which contains mostly accurate and unbiased information,
and its on the trend on improving quality.

At that time i determined the information i enter into articles could be reverted, edited or deleted without much explanations and it would be hard to get it back(3RR revert limit).
i.e. I would have to watch every article every day to see if if my information persists:which is unproductive.
also, people using sockpuppets could easily stall editing efforts by purposefully reverting/editing back articles via multiple wikipedia accounts. This was also not something i had any control of.
The (mismanaged)control over information was my primary motivation.

Today I don't have such motivation to contribute and that opinion about wikipedia contribution is irrelevant outside the time context.

That opinion has more complete reasoning.
Information which is present can be used.
Information which was removed is useless by definition.

It illustrates why your point about content(>>39 "sucked" != "useful") is not valid. Its not measures the quality, it defines that information "useful" because for it to be useful, it must be present(unlike information which "sucked" and gets rejected).

Slashdot is a blog, not a forum. Its discussion are frozen after the article limit(about a week?). Its moderated and has hard limits on posting frequency(about 15-10minutes per post or more).

The advice "Go back to Slashdot " is misrepresenting both sites as equal while in reality they very different and don't have each other features(going back from/to each other means losing certain feature).
