there's no drivers.  even if there is you have to compile them
middle click and anything beyond it like extra mouse buttons is all fucked up
if you want to do anything beyond word processing, it's all text based shit, I though we evolved past that with guis and the mouse
sound is fucked up
why do you have to have a password and and file permission shit.  this isn't a server
no codecs
sucks with flash and any other embeded content(including java)
when a program crashes you have to restart xorg when you dont find it in top.
linux's server-like shit bugs me.  it's like a big hack job so you can run it all on one computer
it boots slow. vista is faster then this shit
It's more intuitive because if you're looking to do something, you probably know what it is, right? Otherwise you wouldn't be looking to do it. So what do you want to do? Type it and be done, or hunt through endless menus and rows of cryptic icons whose use is not necessarilly clear?
That might work fine for simple stuff, but lots of needs are complicated. You only know the features of programs that are documented.

In the case of command line, you have potentially large pages of information as complexity increases. You must take the time out to read all the options, sometimes you have to scan through multiple pages just to find one switch.

In the case of an effective GUI, all the options are clearly labeled with no iconic shortcuts (This has been around for ever in Microsoft products, I think it's a pretty shitty mechanism myself). Saying that the icons are all cryptic is trolling at best. With the GUI, you require no additional documentation because your options are seen in a quick and effective manner.

For example, command line commits are a fucking pain in the ass for SVN. With Tortoise, I can right click the local repository, click commit, check the files I want instead of having to command line the bitches, add my message in a nice box, and then hit OK. And it does the rest for me.

The fact that I'd have to write a script to do that using command line and it wouldn't be as effective because of the ambiguous nature of changed files WITHOUT A GUI means that productivity goes way down when you use the command line in this instance.

As your needs grow in complexity, so do the command line responses unless you write programs to whisk away control from you, which is the point of the command line in the first place, isn't it?
