i've been playing around with kernel bits and pieces lately and, in the process i've been creating tons of kernel panics due to careless mistakes in my code. this doesn't really bother me, except that 50% of the time i lose the source file i was working on after restarting.
how the hell can i stop this from happening? or is there some way i can recover them?

1. Learn to code
2. Stop using a buggy kernel while coding
3. Kill yourself

Well, if you use a real operating system like GNU/Linux, you wouldn't have to worry about these Micro$haft panics.

If you used a real operating system like OS X, even your kernel panics would be beautiful to look at.
