PANIC

i've been playing around with kernel bits and pieces lately and, in the process i've been creating tons of kernel panics due to careless mistakes in my code. this doesn't really bother me, except that 50% of the time i lose the source file i was working on after restarting.

how the hell can i stop this from happening? or is there some way i can recover them?
