I recently installed GNU Emacs 22.3.

The X version features illegible ugly fonts and doesn't work with my IME.
The console version does not have unicode support, and ignores my meta key and uses alt instead, breaking all my existing key bindings.

Vim has none of these problems.  Why am I supposed to take Emacs seriously?

Emacs is a pretty good OS.

It just needs a better text editor.
