I compile Java all the time, and it's fast for me. What Java are you using? I use Eclipse Java and it compiles really quickly when I hit the run button.

It does take a shitload of time.
I deleted my /opt a few months ago and I didn't reinstall GHC because of that.

Fuck compiling GHC, I tried it a while back because the most recent wasn't in the Arch Linux repositories.
Of courses GCC didn't want to compile it, so it ICEd all over my keyboard and monitor after a couple hours of compiling.

I have often had problems with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement when I'm doing business with the CCASG too, but I don't think compilation ever entered into it. I can see why they wouldn't accept your weird-ass currency, though.
