Python with pygame, maybe? I never used it but I bet it's easier for a begginer than C++ with SDL.

It's Okay. I only used pygame once and I only made a small space invader type game, but it's definitely suitable for a beginner

I don't know if I'm allowed to post this here, but XNA with C# is a pretty easy way to start making games.

If you are a wimp, do it using SQL.
If you are a real man, do it in H.264, with a wrapper that flips certain bits on the bitstream depending on user input (it's decoded as video).

The most important thing in a game is performance, so ASM is the only choice.

In all seriousness, I'd recommend XNA's Not Acronymed and C# (the devtools are free), or Panda3D + Python.
If you're just interested in creating a game, and not creating the graphics/audio/input/ai/ etc.. subsystems, then probably pick up one of those game maker programs.

OCaml obviously.
Or wait, don't listen to me and these other faggots, and learn C/C++.
I still support OCaml though.
