2: No it doesn't. As an approved pop-geek (That's a geek defined by popular culture), I would be terribly lost without a frame of reference for all my cliche, drawn out, uninteresting, makes-good-conversation-because-it's-simple-but-geeky, bullshit, the same bullshit that we never tire of because it has a place in popular culture, thus self-consciously elevating itself above everything else on the internet. Also don't forget that it makes copious usage of retired 4chan memes. Please don't forget. If you forget then there won't be anybody to share a common interest with.
