ITT faggots who read shitty books just because they're popular

Name: Anonymous 2008-09-17 4:43

Snow Crash is a very good book, although not as good as the Baroque cycle or The Big U. Also, ANATHEM.

Name: Anonymous 2008-09-17 4:56

You have issues.
So we should not read a good book because it's popular? How rebellious, being different just for the sake of being different!

I've read it. It sucks.

>>23
That's not what I'm saying at all. I read it because it's popular. It sucks. I'm actually man enough to admit that I got tricked into reading a shitty book. Unlike you idiots, who can't do that so you try to convince yourselves that it's actually a good book.

Please define ``good book''.

Name: Anonymous 2008-09-17 6:14

The Illuminatus! Trilogy is a good book.

Name: Anonymous 2008-09-17 6:18

Yes, it is. Yet I preferred the sequel.

Name: Anonymous 2008-09-17 6:21

>>26
I read it, no one ever suggested it to me, and I enjoyed it greatly.  Perhaps you were too taken with all the hype you received and it simply did not live up due to your high expectations and said hype?

Name: Anonymous 2008-09-17 9:59

>>28
Maybe if you're a feebleminded simpleton.

Name: Anonymous 2008-09-17 10:21

>>31
What's the matter, too abstract for you?

Name: Anonymous 2008-09-17 11:16

The Illuminatus! Trilogy is a series of three novels written by Robert Shea and Robert Anton Wilson purportedly between 1969 and 1971[1], and first published in 1975. The trilogy is a satirical, postmodern, science fiction-influenced adventure story; a drug-, sex- and magic-laden trek through a number of conspiracy theories, both historical and imaginary, which hinge around the authors' version of the Illuminati.

So in other words, it's just like reading SICP

I had no influences telling me to read it. I downloaded it as part of a cyberpunk torrent, printed out the text file, and put it in a  binder. I read it in two days. It was cool and a good cyberpunk book, while being mostly without deeper meaning.

But hey, life has no meaning, why should art?

Hear hear. Art is just entertainment that's too deep for you.*

* "You" being whoever is calling something art.

It's actually quite strange; I looked up Snow Crash at my school's library website, and apparently it was just ordered a few days ago. I'm sure it's just a coincidence.

I really enjoyed Snow Crash and Anathem, but I got bogged down in the Baroque Cycle.

Likewise; I found it in an old box of paperbacks at my high school.

Don't change these.
