BBcode 2.0 Working Group Meeting

I hereby propose a standard for Spoilers 1.1:

http://img182.imageshack.us/img182/6572/css3spoilershn3.png

.spoiler {
  color: transparent;
  text-shadow: 0 0 0.5em black;
}

.spoiler:hover {
  text-shadow: 0 0 0.5em rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.2);
  color: black;
}

This can be tested using Stylish, the Firefox extension, with this User Style:

@namespace url(http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml);

@-moz-document domain("dis.4chan.org") {
  .spoiler {
    color: transparent !important;
    text-shadow: 0 0 0.5em black !important;
    background: transparent !important;
  }

  .spoiler:hover {
    text-shadow: 0 0 0.5em rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.2) !important;
    color: inherit !important;
  }
}

Tweaks to the blur radius are especially welcome.

I don't think there's a need to alter the appearance of [spoiler]spoilers[/spoilers]. Separate tags for most commonly used /prog/ BBCode idioms would be a nice addition, though.

My BBCode credibility just went down the drain.

Editor's Note: you may want to use Firefox 3.1 nightlies, which have recently acquired text-shadow functionality.

Name: Anonymous 2008-07-18 13:52

Alternatively, you can use Safari, which has supported text-shadow for, like, at least one hundred years.

For common idioms used in /prog/ I have a program written in scheme.  It works like so:
(bb-tags (list "spoiler" "b" "i") "This is " (bb-expert "EXPERT" (bb-tags (list "sup" "u") "BB") "CODE") "/prog/")
Which outputs:
This is EXPERTBBCODE/prog/

Yeah, but then you'd be a fag.

I wrote the BBCode Haskell module and a bbcode-mode a long time ago, but these kind of things are cumbersome when you're using someone else's computer.

Separate tags for most commonly used /prog/ BBCode idiom

Such as? Hax my anus?

Name: Anonymous 2008-07-18 14:05

That's not a BB code idiom, but you are an idiot

EXPERT IDIOMS

Name: Anonymous 2008-07-18 14:05

("This is " + ("EXPERT" + "BB".sup.u + "CODE").expert + " /prog").b.i.spoiler

Please share bbcode-mode?

Name: Anonymous 2008-07-18 14:12

It sucks and I don't have it anymore. You can find it somewhere in /prog/.

Hey guys, I'm writing a BBcodeDT (that stands for BBcode Development Tookit) for Eclipse 3.4 (Ganymede). It's going to have syntax highlighting support and content assist. I'm looking for developers with Java and Eclipse development experience to help. Please let me know if you are interested.

Thanks anyway :D

I think we can finally ditch the FIOC meme. It has been proven that you can write perl just fine in python.

The music was nice, and the film itself was rather informative, but the ripple cursor effect was kiddish. 7/10.
