EMACS. I have some dataforce in my machine and I see absolutely no reason not to use it. I hate the "ooh we have a house let's leave all rooms empty so there's more space.".

You're a faggot yourself.

None of this qwerty, dvorak or colemak nonsense.

I don't use an editor.  In my youth I had used vim and emacs each in their turn, but one day I happened to encounter The Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs by Abelson and Sussman.  I quickly realized that I did not now nor ever need use of an actual machine.  Since, I have used only my head and occasionally a pencil and paper.

I've been without internet for the past few days and so I wound up reading probably 1/2 of the manpages in MacOS 10.5 out of boredom.  Unfortunately it seems Apple took out the "ed is the standard editor" line from ed's manpage and I'm thinking about opening a bug with them to get it back because after all ed is the standard!

ed — the standard editor
code and markup brought to the 20th century

ed brings the UNIX approach to operating systems into the
world of text editors. By bridging UNIX underpinnings and CLI,
ed cherry-picks the best of both worlds to the benefit of
EXPERT SCRIPTERS and novice users alike.

Whether you are a programmer or a designer, the production of code and
markup is hard work. Without an editor dedicated to the task, it is
also often cumbersome, overwhelming, and repetitive. Especially when
you are dealing with a lot of files at once — like most projects
do. ed puts you back in control, reduces the mental overhead,
and turns manual work into something the computer does.

For it was in the back of their mind's ear, temptive lissomer, how they would be spreading in quadriliberal their azurespotted fine attractable nets, their nansen nets, from Matt Senior to the thurrible mystagogue after him and from thence to the neighbour and that way to the puisny donkeyman and his crucifer's cauda. And in their minds years backslibris, so it was, slipping beauty, how they would be meshing that way, when he rose to it, with the planckton at play about him, the quivers of scaly silver and their clutches of chromes of the highly lucid spanishing gold whilst, as hour gave way to mazing hour, with Yawn himself keeping time with his thripthongue, to ope his blurbeous lips he would, a let out classy, the way myrrh of the moor and molten moonmist would be melding mellifond indo his mouth.
