I've got a serious problem. I procrastinate when it comes to programming. Alot. Okay, not just programming, but it's where I mind the habit the most. Admittedly, I set my standards for a program pretty damn high, but I'd like to get somewhere near a functional model without really being forced to. My personal "Just because" projects rarely ever get finished.
I've been searching for a method to mitigate this. I've had little success. Music can help, especially smoother music, such as Jazz, and especially SHOUTcast streams like Groove Salad.
What works for you?

I listen to gabber and speedcore when coding.

You need to manage your time better. When approaching a programming task, break down the amount of work spent on it in managable "sessions" of no more than 30 minutes.
Set realistic goals. Don't try overdo things.
Map dis.4chan.org to localhost in your /etc/hosts

30 minutes? That's much too short for getting in the zone and staying there. You're probably one of those modern "multitaskers" i.e.: people who actually believe they can competently do two or more things at once.

I'm guessing he's one of those modern day attention deficit kids that can't concentrate on things that are longer than 3 minutes that is not a video game.

Find a time of the day that works for you. Mine is the morning, from about 9 to 12. In the afternoon, my brain just slows down for some reason.

Speedcore music, headphones, make bat file that changes hosts file to block most places you go (also bat for reversing), Edit your wallpaper to anything then type on it what you need to get done. This way you are constantly reminded.

Holy `bat file', Batman! What the fuck does this mean?
Edit your wallpaper to anything then type on it what you need to get done
How do I typed on my wallpaper? And why should I edit it to anything? It is already something.

He means shell programs.

I'm like that too. But I've noticed that whenever I start a project in Haskell, I actually end up finishing it, because I really, really like programming in Haskell. Maybe if you find the right language for you, you'll become less prone to procrastination.

How does EXPERT PROGRAMMER know what Windows is?
Actually, I'm still living in the early 90s. I only got a hang of this `desktop' thing a year or so ago when someone on the internets told me that I can actually use it if I press F11. I've been using OS X for five years now but Emacss is still the only program I actually know how to use.

I meant open up your background in an image editing program, type onto it a list of goals your are constantly forgetting/procrastinating, save, then make that your background. Now you are constantly reminded.
