I need help with pyhton

    im trying to get this python programing thing to work im trying to teach myself i have just installed the latest version of python but the guide sais the next step is to enter python on my command prompt
    it isnt recognizing it though it sais:
    'python' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
