installing ubanto

Name: Anonymous 2008-06-06 7:35

i'm a bsdfag so i don't know shit about anything but you hear a lot about ubanto and i've even told my mother that if she can't afford wintendo, i'll install ubanto, not that she cares or knows what ubanto is

anyways, a thought hit me last night, the software that makes up the ubanto linsux distribution, does it use anything specific for the linsux kernel? like any piece of technology that isn't available in other operating system kernels or simply is uniquely modeled in the linsux kernel so it's not compatible

because if it doesn't, then basically if the software written for ubanto is well written, posix compatible, you could 'install' ubanto on any other posix unix-like system, like bsd

tl;dr: does anyone here know if the software packaged in ubanto linsux uses any linsux kernel specific features?

This post is redundant and adds nothing, just like ubunto
