closure, now fuck off

Ignore these faggots. The correct answer is "int", as that's the only return type that can return 0, obviously.

It's a trick question. This method does not have a return type.

Name: Anonymous 2008-05-12 11:41

>>14
Does not have or does not is?

Name: Anonymous 2008-05-12 12:17

>>14
Yes, it's just like the trick question, "if no light enters your eyes, what colour do you see?"

Name: Anonymous 2008-05-12 12:19

>>16
Black!

Name: Anonymous 2008-05-12 12:57

>>17
But black is not a color

Name: Anonymous 2008-05-12 13:06

>>18
Hey, that's my annoy line!

But yeah, we have chosen the colour black as a syntactic sugar for lack of colour, pretty much like ``cold'' for low temperatures
(- honey, how is it outside?
 - oh, it's not hot, really not hot, like -20oC).

But from the physicist point of view, we don't see anything as light is used to convey visual information. So no cars on the motorway, no packages delivered.

Black is too a color.
Color ≠ wavelength, temperature ≠ heat, see ≠ whatever the hell you think it could possibly mean besides what you described.

I recall arguing this for weeks with this guy a year above me on my CS course. He stated that black is not a colour because there is no light, whereas I insisted that it is perception that counts so of course it's a colour. In the end, I gave up arguing with him when I realised that IHBT.

Years later, I got rather drunk at a party, leading me to gravely, truthfully, repeatedly insult him in front of a large group of people, and he never spoke to me again.

Overall, I think that's a win.

What were the insults and what fueled your outburst? Was it just the "black is [not] a color?" discussion, or were there other reasons?

Name: Anonymous 2008-05-12 15:06

>>21
White is not a color either.

Name: Anonymous 2008-05-12 15:22

black is not a color, end of discussion.

Name: Anonymous 2008-05-12 15:26

>>23,24
Oh man, you guys better watch out the next time you're at a party years later. You're so gonna get insulted.

Name: Anonymous 2008-05-12 15:27

I do not interact with people in the real life.

I can't remember the details of the insults, it was ages ago. It was fuelled by alcohol, years of mutual antagonism, and some perverse remarks he was making to the sister of one of our friends.

Actually, I rather regret it now. I don't particularly enjoy such confrontation, especially afterwards when given some time to mull.

I'm sure that Randall Munroe would find such discussion humourous and use it as an idea for a comic strip xkcd : A WEBCOMIC OF ROMANCE, SARCASM, MATH AND LANGUAGE©.

In fact, I am emailing him the thread as you are reading this.

That was totally uncalled for.

The Munroe will find /prog/ is both un-XKCD and ultimately destructive.

Name: Anonymous 2008-05-12 16:32

>>34
Well, first he has to find /prog/.

I made a pun.

Name: Anonymous 2008-05-12 16:34

I'm sorry, I didn't actually mail him because I don't have a junk email address. I lied to you and I feel kind of bad about it :(
I'd be obliged it someone actually mailed him the thread.

Thank you.
