Java console input classes

Hi /prog/,

I must say it's my first time here but I wanted to ask something. I'm learning java right now (in b4 "Learn a real programming language", I am also learning C and C++) and I was wondering what classes do you use for console input? I tried Scanner and BufferedReader and they have their prons and cons and I wanted to check out few others.

So, what would you suggest /prog/?

Drop Java, pick up Python.
