/prog/ let's make a video game.
In a month or so a new round of 4 Elements contest begins. This is gamedev.net's annual competition. Basically they give 4 random and stupid things and you have to focus your game around them.
The main thing that makes this a contest /prog/ must be represented in are the prizes :
http://www.gamedev.net/community/contest/4e6/default.asp?mode=prizes .
So let us begin.

``We're very grateful to the following sponsors, who have generously donated to our prize pool.''
They must feel kind of bad about it :(

This is
/prog/ . It's simple, we won't do it, we'll just post random nonsense here.
Also, you can't ask us (anonymous) to participate in a real life contest with real life prizes and real life crap.

Write your entry in five lines of APL and you'll probably get some lulz.

We need some lazy game development framework for lazy /prog/ rammers. Must be written in Python, our favorite programming language.

Language choices:
Python
.NET
C++
or something obscure
I vote for .NET

Delphi is the only reasonable choice here.

It should be written in a highly obscure and mostly disused lisp dialect.

Let's do it in .NET and use the mighty power of language agnostic intermediary and powerful libraries

If you plan on using .NET, consider the XNA framework

Game must contain the following instruction:
GetDXExtendedJewishErrorDescriptionStruct(NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL);

Anyway the all important contest starts in a month or two (the guy also said the elements will be a lot better)
This means we have 7-8 months to complete our entry and win awesome prizes.
I am messing around with .NET and DirectX (using a .NET Wrapper), by the time the contest starts I should be familiar with it.

But in the movies it always works out.
I expect to work hard with me and one teammate until a month before the contest ends. When a rival team with funding and an evil demanding leader kills my teammate in a way that leaves no evidence. Then all of /prog/ bands together and at the last minute sends me all of the bug fixes, code, and art assets needed. Then in the judging it goes to a sudden death tie and the tie breaker is who used the element "ponies" better. Luckily for me I put in a whole level of ponies dedicated to my dead teammate which puts us over the top and gives the win to the unfunded but relentless /prog/ team.

That was the most recent elements tournament. The next one is starting in a month or two like is posted earlier. Also the elements should be a lot better (no ponies/accountants bullshit).

I prefer ponies, accountants and crystals to "emblem", "emotion", and that lot.
In any case, I am an expert
gaem programmer, and I am interested.

anyway I am still going to do this. Just waiting for the elements to be unveiled and working on my .net/directX ability.
