I would very much like to go source-diving to add touchpad support to a lot of things, and un-gay the PDF viewers. Anyone interested?

Unfortunately I do not have a F-200, it's an older model. I may get an F-200 though, as it looks decent.

Hello, Fags. I've been wondering; where can I find an implementation of EFL, Allegro, or WPF for my Nintendo DS? Thanks.

The NDS SDL port sucks balls. Seriously, I'm not talking about the 4chan definition of “sucking” (ie: anything less than perfection), I'm talking about regular, polite NDS developers openly stating that the SDL port for NDS is the shittiest thing that ever existed.
I don't think it even lets you use the two screens properly.

The F-200, from what I've used, seems to suck balls. They apparently removed access to the internal memory, the telnet/samba servers, TCP/IP over USB, etc. Also, firmware 4.0 is shit to say the least.
Things I'd like to do:
1.) Dim the screen after a period of non-activity to reduce battery drain
2.) Patch Marathon so that it can be played on the F-200

No Samba/TCP/IP/USB? That was one of the more useful parts...

Apparently there's a GSOC project this year to improve SDL support of the NDS hardware by using the 1.3 API.
Seems like a lot of bloat to put into such a small device, but whatever.

Nearly anything at all is better than SDL. But you know what? SDL is what actually gets used. Most games don't require that complex graphics access. Primitive drawing you can get from a library, and if you need hidden surface removal then OpenGL is right there you double nigger.

If they're just writing a SDL implementation, it doesn't necessarily have to be bloated. My concern with such a project would be that the NDS framebuffer mode is slow as shit. To get any decent speeds from the device (with respect to rendering) you either have to use the hardware accelerated 2D or 3D modes. And those are a lot more constraining than "hey we've got some surfaces, let's bitblt them around".
That said, it's a pretty neat device which can do a lot of cool shit.

Let me know when 1.0 is actually done. Maybe we'll still be around in the year 3k.
