sendkeys in Visual Basic 6

Any reason sendkeys() refuses to work in vb6? (Windows xp)
I'm trying to sendkeys to a webbrowser component (shdocvw.dll).
Calling sendkeys from within a timer, the timer also uses .setfocus (to the webbrowser component) before it calls sendkeys.

Tried to debug this so many times, can anyone enlighten me?
